About Our Farm

Farming in Faith
We believe that working the land and caring for our cattle are a gift from God and we are called to be good stewards of that gift. We were called to this mission in 2012. We have learned the importance of John 15:5-8. We must remain close to the Vine and stay in His Word in order to live in peace and bear fruit. Faith is more than just believing in God, it is moving forward in action as if we believe He is whom He says He is.

Cattle
Our Angus calves are from purebred Angus mama cows, sired by the Pharo Hereford bull (makes a black calf with a white face). Our Wagyu Cross calves are either 7/8 Wagyu or from their mostly Wagyu mama cows, sired by our Pharo Hereford Bull. The mamas and calves graze in our pasture during the spring and summer and on our organic cornstalks during the fall and winter. Our steers are fed our organic or transition-to-organic NonGMO corn, as well as, NonGMO peas for protein from our transition fields. They are given locally-grown NonGMO alfalfa and oat hay. The steers have not been given any hormone implants or antibiotics. We treat our cattle with care and will treat one with antibiotics if necessary, but that means it is removed from our program. We strive to provide chemical-free beef with the delicious Nebraska corn-fed taste that everyone loves. You can find out more about our beef here.

Certified Organic Crops
Over half of our acres are certified organic by Organic Certifiers. Last summer we harvested our first field of organic field peas. Organic white corn, organic soybeans, and organic wheat were harvested in 2021. In order to transition more acres to organic, we plant wheat and alfalfa using no chemicals as we prepare the land to be certified. We believe that it is possible to grow sustainable crops without the use of synthetic chemicals. We value what we have learned from other organic farmers and desire to farm with a Godly reverence for the land and for those who enjoy its harvest.
