Quarters, Half, or Whole

calves 2022.jpg

We have Wagyu/Hereford beef steers now.  The beef is even more tender than our Angus!

The benefits of purchasing beef by the quarter, half, or whole:

  • You have quality beef on hand for quick meals for your family!

  • The beef is aged at the locker, which provides improved tenderness compared to store-bought.

  • You know where your beef comes from and how the animals were fed and treated.

  • You get to choose the cuts of beef you want!

  • You can gift your adult children or parents with quality homegrown beef!

Prices for 2024 quarters have not been set.

Here’s what we’d expect for prices:

Whole Steer: $? x 700 lbs. hanging weight = $?

Half Steer: $? x 350 lbs. hanging weight = $?

Quarter Steer: $? x 175 lbs. hanging weight = $?

*Animal weights vary and this hanging weight is an estimate.  It could be a bit more or less than this estimated weight.

** You would pay for the butchering cost.  (around $700 for whole, $350 for half, $200 for the quarter; Processing cost varies depending on your cut choices!) Our animals are processed at Twin Loups Quality Meats in St Paul, NE or The Meat Hook in Polk, NE.

How this would work:

We’d like a deposit soon ($100 quarter; $200 half; $400 whole) to show your commitment.  After we deliver the animal to the butcher, I would let you know the actual hanging weight and remaining cost.  The remaining cost would be due within a week. Once your check has cleared, you can call the butcher with your cut choices and your beef would be ready to pick up at the butcher within a few weeks.

I have a cut sheet I can send you and ideas for your cut choices. It’s really simple and I can walk you through the process!  Basically, if your family uses more ground beef and you’re not interested in a brisket- that’s ok!  You just say no thanks and that meat would go into ground beef.  If you love hamburger patties, you can have them make you some for a small fee.  I love that I don’t have to make patties myself and they stay together on the grill!  You choose how many steaks per package, what type of steaks you want, how much ground beef per package, what type and size of roasts you want, etc.

We’ve had multiple families split a quarter before and we have a few people that like to buy a half and gift their adult children quality beef.  If you are wondering how much beef is in one-quarter of a steer, let me know and I can send you some pictures of what that looks like.

Please call, text, or email us with questions!  We’d be happy to line you up with some great-tasting healthy beef!
